Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our finance team and support the day-to-day accounting operations of the resort. As an integral member of our team, the Accounting Clerk will assist with financial record-keeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting tasks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices, verifying accuracy, coding expenses, and obtaining approvals for payment.
- Prepare and issue checks, wire transfers, and electronic payments to vendors and suppliers in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payments or invoices.
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, posting payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal policies.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and distribute financial reports, statements, and analyses to management and stakeholders as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Assist with audits and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial best practices.
- Provide support and assistance to other members of the finance team as needed to ensure the smooth operation of departmental activities.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a hospitality or similar environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
