Position Overview: We are seeking vigilant and certified Lifeguards to join our team and ensure the safety and well-being of guests enjoying our pool and beach areas. As key members of our resort staff, Lifeguards play a critical role in maintaining a secure environment, preventing accidents, and responding promptly to emergencies to ensure the safety of all guests.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor designated swimming areas, including pools and beaches, to prevent accidents and enforce safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain constant surveillance of swimmers and beachgoers, scanning the water and surrounding areas for signs of distress or potential hazards.
- Identify and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues, medical incidents, and other safety concerns.
- Provide assistance and support to distressed swimmers or beachgoers, administering first aid or CPR as needed and summoning additional help if necessary.
- Communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and resort management, providing updates on safety conditions and incidents as they occur.
- Enforce pool and beach rules and regulations, including those related to swimming, diving, and use of equipment, to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Conduct regular inspections of pool and beach facilities, equipment, and signage, reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to maintain and enhance lifeguarding skills and knowledge.
- Uphold the resort’s standards of service excellence and guest satisfaction, ensuring that all guests feel welcome and safe during their stay.
Qualifications:
- Valid lifeguard certification from a recognized training program required.
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED preferred.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard or swim instructor preferred but not required.
- Strong swimming skills and proficiency in water rescue techniques.
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills, with the ability to remain vigilant and focused for extended periods.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
- Physical stamina and the ability to swim long distances, lift and carry heavy objects, and perform rescues in challenging conditions.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
